How it all began…….
My name is Meabh,and I founded Spraoi Clothing.
My mother, grandmother and great grandmothers all enjoyed sewing. When I started sewing for my own 5 kids, as they grew, so did my small business.
Having 5 busy kids of my own, I understand the importance of high quality, duralble clothing. Compfortable kidswear that can be passed from one child to another over the years. Funky prints, that mix and match were always a much loved bonus in our home. Spraoi Clothing also offers cuffs that unroll with your child, as they grow, so your outfit will last a little bit longer.
We are as Eco-Friendly as can be. Everything we do has our beautiful Earth in mind.
We use GOTS Certified organic cotton and Bamboo. No pesticides or sprays are used in the growth of our cotton and 90% less water is saved in the farming. (this is just a few of the many advantages of organic farming.) This is safer for babies sensitive skin, and our Planet. Spraoi fabrics are also Fair Trade.
Bamboo is one of the most eco friendly fabrics on the planet. It grows at a very fast rate, using very little water,(90% less) It also contains many anti viral, anti fungal and anti bacterial properties. So again, no pesticides or chemicals are needed for growth. A much safer fabric, and kinder to our bugs. It is softer than cotton, 4 times more absorbent and dries quicker, so we use this for the backs of our bibs, and other items.
We hate waste here at Spraoi Clothing, so to avoid this, we offer many products that use the scraps and off cuts of fabric. If not used, these off cuts would end up in landfill.
Booties, Wipes, Face rounds and even our lovely Cloth Pads all use up these fabric offcuts.
We use compostable labelling and recycle/upcycle any packaging we can.
Many of our fabrics are designed in-house here, At Spraoi Clothing. We are emmensly proud of this.
